Our client wanted to transform an overgrown and tired area of the garden into a fresh, clean and beautifully planted space, while making better use of the existing planters and improving the overall appearance of the garden.

The project began with the careful removal of the existing bamboo from the planters, including the removal of contaminated soil and responsible disposal of the resulting green waste. Once cleared, the planters were thoroughly prepared for their new planting scheme.

The existing fence was cleaned and brushed down before being painted crisp white, instantly brightening the space and providing a fresh backdrop for the new greenery. We then supplied and planted six Portuguese laurel hedges, each up to 2 metres tall, creating a lush and structured screen with plenty of natural colour and texture. Fresh compost and topsoil were added to bring the planters up to the required levels, with root feed applied to give the new hedges the best possible start.

In the rear flowerbed, English lavender was carefully planted to introduce softer planting, beautiful colour and a touch of seasonal fragrance to the garden.

The existing irrigation system was also reinstated and extended with a new drip-feed system, providing the newly planted areas with a consistent and efficient water supply to help the plants establish and thrive.

As part of the wider garden tidy-up, overhanging tree branches were carefully trimmed back to the boundary line using a pole saw and ladder, with all resulting tree waste removed from site.

The patio was also given some attention, with the sap-covered section treated with an acid wash to remove the stubborn residue and restore a much cleaner, fresher appearance.

The result is a brighter, cleaner and more structured garden, combining fresh evergreen hedging, fragrant lavender and carefully restored existing features. With the new irrigation system in place, the planting is also set up for healthy growth and easier ongoing maintenance.
